Would you like to discover the beautiful nature of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug? Then there are some starting points of hiking trails from the park. Around 't Eekhoornnest you can visit various restaurants, the Amersfoort Zoo, De Staelenhoef Cheese Farm, Organic Farm Hoeve Ravestein, Groeneveld Castle, Horse Camp, Museum Gagelgat, Super Fun, Military Museum.

Download the "Komoot" app on your mobile phone. From the app you can specify 't Eekhoornnest as a starting point and, for example, cycle, walk or mountain bike to "Lage Vuursche" or on a summer day to "Loosdrecht".

The "wooden shoe trail" "het Derde Erf" is certainly also a must do. During this walk of 5-9 km with a starting point on the estate of 't Eekhoornnest, you will discover that you have arrived at a crossroads of different landscapes. You will see the rhododendrons planted by the famous painter Maurits Esscher and where he had a painting hut. The orange pole route also starts directly behind the park and from the sports field you will find the first pole, which only takes you across the estate "De Groene Duinen".
